To sail the crystal waters of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands with family and friends was an experience of pure beauty, utter joy and much learning. A mother of four, a beautiful boat on endless ocean waters and a very cosy but pleasant sleeping quarters made for a very memorable sailing vacation. My children are active - that is an understatement - and sailing with my four year old boy, well I was a little apprehensive about life on the water and a possible little one overboard….but we settled in well.

As we were educated on the how to’s of sailing - navigation, mooring, anchoring, winds, tides and the mechanics of the toilets and the boat itself, I couldn’t help but feel some dissapointment to the visions of myself sipping Rose all day on the waters while my husband managed the boat. It was not to be.

But together we quickly got the hang of it, and with only a few heated hand signals and rolls of the eyes, we were off with our friends for a week of pure Whitsunday magic.

Sailing and exploring the Whitsunday Islands only emphasised the beauty of our natural Australian landscape. It was a beautiful thing to travel with a selection of Australian labels and capture these designs and products while sailing the Whitsunday Islands. The carefully selected pieces proved perfect for an easy, low fuss yet luxury holiday on the waters and beaches.

With no iron or wardrobe, and only an outdoor shower on the boat, I felt effortlessly dressed and utterly comfortable. To throw on an outfit that feels light and easy, but is quality fabric and design, is my go to summer style.

I buy pieces that are effortless, comfortable, can go day to night and are easy-to-wear and care for. Most importantly, are made to last and endure my active days and my children but keep me feeling styled and comfortable.

Brands that resonate with me are true to their own ethos, rather than consumerism. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but a brand that tells its own story, owns it and stays true to it - and is crafted / quality / independent businesses and local, this is what separates a label or brand from the rest.

This is what we are passionate about and what I buy. It was a pleasure to showcase these fashion labels on a beautiful journey with my family - memories that will stay with me forever.
